Xian or Xi’an is the capital of the Shaanxi province in the North West region of China and can be found in the centre of the Guanzhong plain. It is one of the oldest cities in China and has over 3,100 years of history.

The amount of rain is a lot lower than during the summer and more comfortable than the cold temperatures experienced in winter. What to pack and wear in Xian?
If you are visiting Xian during the summer you will need to be prepared for rain, whether that means simply carrying an umbrella or waterproof coat to keep you dry. In the hot summer months light clothing is more than enough, though in winter, especially in January you will need lots of thick winter clothing to cope with the cold both inside and outside. In spring and autumn light clothing with an extra layer to cope with cooler evening temperatures is more than enough.
